Apple iPhone 16e 128GB Black
£195.99
Apple introduced iPhone 16e on 19 February 2025 as an option balancing features and price within the iPhone 16 family. This black 128GB variant combines photography, gaming and daily functions; assess its features for your needs and available price. ## Super Retina XDR display The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED offers detail, colour and contrast for apps and compatible HDR films. Its format uses the front in a contained size. Sunlight visibility depends on brightness and surroundings, and comfort on hand size. ## 48MP Fusion camera, two framings from one sensor The 48MP Fusion includes optical stabilisation and a 2x optical-quality option from the same sensor with 12MP output. It is not a separate physical telephoto. Switch framing for photos and videos, with quality depending on light, scene and mode. For more creative camera options, compare iPhone 16, which adds Ultra Wide and other controls. ## A18 chip iPhone 16e's A18 combines a six-core CPU, four-core GPU and Neural Engine for supported machine learning. It shares the A18 family with iPhone 16 and Plus; Pro models use A18 Pro. It provides capability for games, photo editing, video and multitasking according to apps and settings, without guaranteeing perfect smoothness for every task. ## USB-C and battery life USB-C lets you share a suitable cable with compatible devices after checking their requirements. Apple specifies up to 26 hours of video playback in tests of the new model. At introduction, it also compared battery life with iPhone SE and claimed up to 12 hours more under its comparison conditions. These are test figures rather than a fixed gain in every use. Actual runtime for journeys or intensive use depends on settings, connection and battery. ## Materials and design Apple states that the original design has over 30% recycled content overall. The battery uses 100% recycled cobalt and 95% recycled lithium; the aluminium enclosure uses 85% recycled aluminium. Each percentage applies to that material and component rather than the whole phone. The range came in white and black; this variant is black. Useful life depends on care, use and maintenance. ## Larger display options The 6.1 inches exceed earlier iPhone SE formats. For more screen space compare iPhone 16 Plus. iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max add other processing, display and telephoto camera features. Review each model's differences for the size and functions you need. ## Apple Intelligence iPhone 16e supports compatible Apple Intelligence functions such as Writing Tools, photo search, image creation, Genmoji and memories, plus Siri according to version and availability. It combines local processing and Private Cloud Compute for certain requests, designed to protect data. This model has no Camera Control: visual intelligence is accessible through the Action button with compatible software and settings. Apple stated in 2024 that its data centres, including those powering Apple Intelligence, used 100% renewable electricity; this describes those centres rather than all energy for every local task. Supported languages, region, software and setup are required. ## iOS 18 and personalisation iPhone 16e launched with the iOS 18 family, supporting app, widget and Lock Screen personalisation. Messages offers supported functions including Smart Reply with Apple Intelligence where available. Privacy, encryption and permissions depend on service and settings; not every message type uses the same encryption. AI and system functions can help with tasks, with results varying by software and app. ## iPhone 16e for daily use A18, Fusion and Apple Intelligence combine capability for daily use and compatible apps. Assess the balance of functions and price against the catalogue and your priorities. For communication, photography or demanding apps, compare these features and stated battery life with your needs. Design, maintenance and compatibility affect long-term experience; this model belongs to the generation introduced in 2025. ## Explore the iPhone 16 family Compare iPhone 16, Plus, Pro and Pro Max for other cameras, controls or a larger screen. Each model combines size, features and price differently.
